The Power of One

The Power of One (Pokémon: The Movie 2000) is the second Pokémon feature-length film. The movie is set as the trio travel around the Orange Islands, when a collector named Lawrence III attempts to capture Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Lugia. This sends the legendary birds out of control and they start to destroy the surrounding landscape. With the fate of the world at stake it's up to Ash -- the chosen one -- to gather treasures from Ice, Lighting and Fire Island so that Lugia's song can be played and the fighting can be stopped.

The film introduced two Johto Pokémon to the series: Lugia, and Slowking (whose role in the film was as a prophet who resided at the Shamouti Island shrine).

Slowking: Disturb not the  harmony of fire, ice and lightning. [sighs] What a mess.

Slowking: The Fire God, Thunder God and Ice God must not be disturbed. [sighs] This isn't good.

Slowking: This isn't good.

Slowking: Take the treasure and put it there.
Ash: You can talk?
Pikachu: Pika pika!
Ash: Oh right.
Pikachu: Pikachu!
Ash: Huh?
Slowking: The treasure; over there.
Ash: Treasure?
Pikachu: Pika pika!
Ash: This?

Slowking: So, you're Ash? You're one treasure short.
Ash: Yeah I know but, how'd you know my name?

Slowking: Two? You're missing one.
Ash: Missing... what's that?

Slowking: The great guardian, Lugia!

Slowking: The Ocean God, Lugia!

Melody: Though the guardian of the sea shall arise to quell the fighting, alone it's song shall fail thus the Earth shall turn to ash.
Slowking: This looks bad.
Melody: The Ocean God, Lugia. He only appears when the world is about to be destroyed. But, he doesn't have the power.
Slowking: This isn't good.

Slowking: There's only one hope. Only the chosen one can bring together the treasures to help the water's great guardian.
Melody: But the legend says it's song shall fail.
Slowking: Thus the Earth shall turn to Ash.
Melody: How are we ever going to find the chosen one if we don't even know where to look?
Misty: It's right in the legend. The Earth shall turn to Ash.
Tracey: Ash, it's talking about you!
Ash: I'm the... chosen one?
Pikachu: Pika pikachu.
Slowking: This isn't good. Unless the superior one can be found the Gods will not be calmed.
Melody: The superior one has already appeared.
Slowking: He still needs to get one more treasure.
Melody: As long as the superior one succeeds the world will be saved.
Misty: Wait, what you're saying... it can't be! Ash!
Tracey: I see. It must be true.
Ash: Me? Is it really me?
Pikachu: Pika pikachu.

Melody: He made it!
Togepi: Togepi!
Slowking: Have you brought the final treasure, Ash?
Ash: Here it is, Slowking.
Slowking: You must be the one to place it.
Slowking: Ah!
Melody: Ash!

Slowking: You are a superior leader.
Ash: This is it, right?
Slowking: Put the treasure over there.

Jessie: Who'd believe it?
James: For once we were heroes. 
Meowth: Too bad nobody saw us.
Slowking: Guess again!
Jessie: What... did... you say?
Slowking: Lots of people saw what you did out there, and all of them are watching you right now.
Jessie: Then I guess the bad guys-
James: -are finally-
Meowth: -good guys!
Jessie: We're saved.
James: We didn't die.
Meowth: We still have a long way to go.
Jessie: Who... are... you?
Slowking: A very bad thing has happened here but luckily it's okay now.
Jessie: It really is a perfect ending.
James: That's why now-
Meowth: -it-
Team Rocket: -feels good!
